Last season's U18's captain Zack Morgan has returned to UWANFC after a brief stint at Inglewood United FC in the PS4 U18's NPL. Morgan captained the 18s side to a third place finish last season and received a handful of bench appearances for the First Team towards the end of the season before deciding to move to the states Premier Division in the off-season.

Despite leaving, Morgan believes his time at Inglewood was beneficial. "I was able to develop some very strong friendships at Inglewood which assisted with my development," expressed Morgan. "However, as the season progressed I felt the team bond deteriorate and my game time reducing, which hinted towards a move."

After deciding to look at alternative options, UWA was the obvious option for the 17 year old. "After spending last year at UWA and talking to various people at the club, coming back was a very easy move for me to make," explained Morgan. "The way they treated not only myself but everybody else was exceptional and as a club they have a very bright future that I'm glad to be apart of."

In his first few weeks back at the club Morgan has spent time training with the First Team under Michael Janssen, a figure who he is very excited to work with. "Michael has welcomed me into the club with open arms. I hear positive things come out of everybody at the club when Michael is brought up in discussion. His knowledge of the game and the friendly yet professional manner he has is something that many coaches and players alike can learn from."

Looking forward to the remainder of the season, Morgan has set out some large goals for himself, but with the right mindset and environment surrounding him, these are goals he believes he can achieve. "By the end of the season I hope to be pushing for First Team minutes, " Morgan stated. "I'm aware that the standard this year is much higher than previous seasons and it will be much harder to break in with the likes of Bryce Conway, Andrew Xydas and Conor Devlin occupying those midfield spots. But its a challenge, and I can't wait to give it a crack."

Morgan played for the 18s in his first week back at the club and will be hoping to move into the Reserves side within the coming weeks.
