It's set to be an intriguing battle this Sunday in Wanneroo as the two sides battle for a place in the 2018 Night Series Semi-Finals.

Uni's frustrating 1-1 draw with Ashfield last week means Michael Janssen's troops require all three points in order qualify.

"Last Sunday was disappointing, but we have the chance this weekend to beat Kingsway and make the finals, so we're really excited for the match," the head coach said.

Kingsway currently sit top of the group on six points after their impressive victory over Group D favourites Dianella, with UWA one point behind in second.

The squad responded strongly in training this week, with a 3-2 win over Shamrock Rovers in a friendly on Wednesday showing that the lads can and will bounce back.

Skipper Josh Marocchi believes the side is in the right frame of mind to progress.

"The boys looked really fresh this week and are in great spirits. Holding the chance to make it into a Semi-Final in our own hands will drive the squad to pull a performance that shows our real quality and I have faith that we can do just that."

In team news, Tim Robertson and Bryce Conway will miss the crunch tie, with Sam Carrello returning to the squad after overcoming his hamstring injury sustained against Dianella.
