Uni head to The Mac for their first home game of the season as they search for an opening win of the season in Round 2 against Joondalup City.

The fixture provides the perfect opportunity for Michael Janssen's troops to put last week's disappointment behind them in front of the home faithful.

The Head Coach has been pleased with the squad's response on the training track this week, with the German insisting there is "no need to change" after just one defeat.

"I have no doubt on our quality and totally trust in the entire team to deliver in weeks to come."

"We've been very focused and intense at training, which was a really positive reaction. The boys will launch our season at The Mac, I have no doubt."

Josh Marocchi echoed Janssen's thoughts but urged the group to become more clinical when dominating the run of play starting from this weekend against Joondalup, who also suffered defeat last Saturday.

"Joondalup are a committed outfit, they are not to be taken lightly. They had a young squad last year who can only improve so we expect a difficult game as they look to attack and win their first points of the season."

"It's vital to kick-start our season this week at home with a win. I think you'll see a big response from the playing group after last week. We can improve and we will commence that process Saturday. Last week was at a timely reminder that even when you play well for patches of a game, you can't afford to offer chances for the opposition and still expect to win."

On the injury front, Mark Trevisiol makes a much-anticipated return to the squad following a lengthy hamstring lay-off, while Brandon Naude is likely to miss the match with a hamstring issue.

Full-back Max Welton has returned from the UK as Conor Devlin is set to miss the next two fixtures.
