MiniRoos Football

UWANFC offers MiniRoos football for all players age 6 to 12. Teams play in small sided games in Football West competitions on Sunday morning, starting mid-April through to September. Training is at Mount Claremont Oval and UWA Sports Park, and will usually start in early March. All coaches are supported by our Technical Directors, and have access to the BvB-Borussia Dortmund youth development curriculum at levels appropriate to the age and abilities of the team.

UWANFC offers MiniRoos Cluster U5-U7, and ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ streams for U8s to U12s.

Additional programs are available for players seeking to further improve their skills and game awareness, at each level. Recommended programs for each level are noted below, and can be booked via our Products page.

MiniRoos Academy

UWANFC enables all children from the ages of 4 to 17 to play football to the best of their ability. We also identify the players who take football more seriously and wish to lift their level of play to a standard where they can compete at the highest levels in Perth.

Our performance program offers UWANFC Academy training to selected players from the MiniRoos Groups. Training for selected teams is at UWA Sports Park. The sessions run from 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm with the teams’ allocated coach and with specialised coaching, aligned to the BvB coaching curriculum and delivered by experienced coaches.

Academy players will be offered additional learning through our Academy Immersion camps. This will include education on Sports Nutrition, physiotherapy and sports psychology. More information on the Academy can be found in our Football Structure document.

There are limited spots available on our MiniRoo Academy teams for 2025.

“I am not a perfectionist, but I like to feel that things are done well. More important than that, I feel an endless need to learn, to improve, to evolve, not only to please the coach and the fans but also to feel satisfied with myself. It is my conviction that here are no limits to learning, and that it can never stop, no matter what our age.”
