Perth SC and UWA Nedlands FC Announce Official Partnership
Perth Soccer Club and UWA Nedlands Football Club are delighted to announce a Memorandum of Understanding between the two clubs to work together on player development.
The MOU, which has the support of governing body Football West, commits the two clubs to establish an enhanced player pathway aimed at improving the retainment and development of players at Perth SC and UWA Nedlands FC.
The collaboration includes:
· Perth SC offering UWA Nedlands FC access to its NPLM and NPLW senior teams, including the secondment and or loan of players and coaches.
· Perth SC offering UWA Nedlands FC access to its health and high-performance program, including access to its facilities and personnel including sports trainers, physios and doctors.
· Perth SC collaborating with UWA Nedlands FC junior boys and girls to enhance pathway opportunities between the clubs.
· Perth SC offering UWA Nedlands FC junior players access to its specialised skills program, specialist coaching sessions and training and playing facilities.
Perth SC President Jason Marocchi said the MOU would enhance player development opportunities at both clubs.
“We are delighted to partner with UWA Nedlands FC – a club which shares our values and is committed to improving player development pathways in WA,” Marocchi said.
“This is a very exciting model which we are embarking on – one which is beneficial for both clubs – and will ensure we maximise opportunities for our young players to further their development. It is a model which has been in place in Europe for decades and will allow for player movement between the clubs, providing players at both clubs with significant development opportunities within an official collaborative framework. We are proud to be partnering with UWA Nedlands FC and establishing this new initiative, which we believe will not only benefit both of our clubs, but the game of football in WA.”
UWA Nedlands FC President Arthur Hiemstra said the club was looking forward to working with Perth SC.
“Perth SC is the most successful club in WA football and we are excited about this partnership, which will provide our juniors with an elite pathway to the NPL and beyond,” Hiemstra said.
“We are also looking forward to providing development opportunities for young players from Perth SC to play first team football with our State League side. Our club is eager to get to work with Perth SC to ensure we are providing a first-class football environment for our players – both on and off the field.”
