UWANFC represented at the National Club Futsal Championships!
The University of Western Australia Nedlands Football Club (UWANFC) is excited to congratulate the six outstanding players from the UWANFC Academy program that recently represented Western Australia at the National Club Futsal Championships.
Aidan Babei, Ben Fisher, Charlie Reid, and Ching Yin "Seth" Wong were chosen to represent the WA 11 Boys team, while Charlee Laverty (VC) and Milla Herman were chosen to represent the WA 14 Girls team in this prestigious national tournament (who came Runners-Up).
The National Club Futsal Championships, held every January, is Australia’s biggest and most competitive futsal event. Regional representative squads are selected from across the country at the Regional Futsal Titles the year prior, after which the players begin their training in preparation for their appearance on the national stage.
Mitch Doherty, Technical Director for Boys Football at UWANFC, shared: “The pathway program at UWANFC provides incredible opportunities not only for soccer but also for its high-paced cousin, futsal. These players have shown exceptional skill and commitment across both disciplines, and their selection to represent WA in futsal is a testament to the breadth of development opportunities at the club.” At UWANFC, players can progress through their junior years, competing at a level that matches their individual development, while benefiting from the club’s consistent support and strong development structure. This was recently enhanced by its partnership with youth development leaders of Borussia Dortmund (BVB). This pathway not only helps out member reach their full potential but also fosters a deep connection to the UWANFC community.

Their dedication, hard work, and passion for the game have earned them this prestigious opportunity.
